Welcome to Number the Stars

Ten-year-old Annemarie and her best friend Ellen often think of life before the war. It's now 1943, and their life is filled with school, food shortages, and the Nazi soldiers marching through town. When the Jews are "relocated," Ellen moves in with Annemarie's family and pretends to be one of them, yet her life is still in danger.

The first charector is Amelia. She is a very brave girl. I can tell this beacause when she was only seven she declaired that she would die to save king Cristian if she had to. Wich for a seven year old is very good.I found this in page 14.
The Amelia but shes very carful. She would get so scared when any thing would happen.Like when the solider came she just stayed back and froze.

What the uncle ment was that it might be worse if she knew more about what was going on.Because whan the solders were asking her what was in the casket. If she knew what was in the casket she may have said it was blankets insatead of Aunt Berte. Then the soilders might have have taken her and the people away because thir Jewish.
